How did you get into competing in fitness?
I started competing in Fitness 6 years ago as a way to promote my personal training studio and a personal journey to see how hard I could push myself and really achieve the body I have always wanted.
What are your current stats?
My Off Season Stats:
124 Pounds
15 % Bodyfat
My In Season Stats:
120 Pounds
7% Bodyfat
How do you stay motivated?
What motivates me is seeing all of the moms and busy business women in my life that wake up at 4:30 in the morning working a really long and busy day and then make it back to the gym at 7:30 at night. I feel like if they can do it then I can too.
What is your diet like?
I eat clean year round. There is no off season eating like some competitors do. I don’t like to blow up or gain weight in the off season and then have to kill myself with lots of cardio and starvation in the competition season. I eat 4 or 5 meals per day consisting of lean protein, green vegetables and then 1 fruit and 1 starch per day.
What is your current routine?
I do Ashtanga or Power Yoga for 1.5 hours 2 days per week.
I lift heavy weights separated my bodypart 3 days per week.
I do functional training and calisthenics 2 days per week.
I round off my week with cardio for 35 minutes to 45 minutes 5 days a week.
What supplements do you take?
I like the Creatine and Glutamine from BNRG.com and I like the pre workout edge5 energy and performance drink from koflexsports.com
Do you have any advice you’d like to offer to anyone who’s thinking about getting into competing?
Many people getting into competing think they can do it by getting advice off of the internet or on social marketing sites. This is the number one mistake I see people make. You must get a coach and you must get a qualified coach. If you can not afford a coach then cold hard truth is that you probably can’t afford to compete. Sad but true!!! Competing is expensive and your coach will be the foundation that you are going to build the entire experience on.
If you could only do three exercises, what would they be?
Box Jumps, Walking Lunges, Lateral Shoulder Raises. Frankly because my symmetry problems stem from my butt and my shoulders.
Do you have any favorite quotes?
Tell me that i can’t do it.
Tell me that i shouldn’t even try.
Tell me its’ impossible.
Tell me the risk is too high, the challenge too much, or the feat too tough.
Tell me that i won’t do it….AND I WILL!!!!
